Temporary email for website testing

When you’re building a sign-up form, you can end up sending yourself the same email over and over. Use a temporary inbox to keep those test messages out of your everyday email.

Start with one clear test

Create an inbox and use its address to register a test account on your own website. Keep this page open and check the email that arrives. Look at the sender, subject, and message text. Follow the verification link or enter the code on your site, then check that the account is marked as verified. Use a fresh inbox for a separate test so an old email doesn’t get mistaken for the new one.

Check the awkward cases too

Request a password reset for a test account you control. Check that the link lets you set a new password, then see what happens if you use it again. Try an expired link too. If we haven’t highlighted a verification code, open the email and look for it there. Keep real customer details out of test emails, screenshots, and bug reports.

What this test can tell you

Use other mailboxes to check spam filtering and how the message looks in different mail apps. OneTimeEmail.com receives messages only. It does not send, reply, or handle attachments. Keep private inbox links out of shared test logs, and delete the inbox when you’re finished. If a message is missing, check the sending logs on your own website.
