Is temporary email safe?
Temporary email is useful for a download link or a quick sign-up. Use an address you plan to keep for anything important, and treat unfamiliar messages with the same caution as in your regular inbox.
Use it for the right job
Use your regular email for banking and accounts you need to keep. You may need that address for a password reset long after today’s sign-up. An expired or deleted temporary inbox cannot be recovered. The recovery phrase only reopens an inbox that still exists.
Keep the keys to yourself
The private access link and 12-word recovery phrase let you reopen your inbox without an account. Anyone who has either can do the same. Keep them out of public posts, shared screenshots, and support tickets. Use them only on our website. Changing devices is fine, but sharing the link also shares access. Delete the inbox when you no longer need its contents.
Read messages with the usual caution
Check the sender and where a link goes before opening it, even when we’ve picked it out as a confirmation link. We show HTML emails in a separate viewer. The viewer does not scan messages for malware, and emails may load images from other websites. You can read about our functional cookies and privacy-friendly analytics in the privacy policy.
